Pearl woke up with a throbbing headache. Which was especially weird, because she didn't even remember falling asleep.
When she opened her eyes, she was already standing. And she was... well, she was somewhere. Certainly not anywhere she recognized. The room was huge, with one long table in the middle of it. Standing on the other side of it were five men, who, much like the room itself, were not at all familiar to Pearl. They were all staring at her, looking about as confused as she felt.
“Lucifer,” began one of them slowly, “you performed the summoning spell correctly, didn’t you?”An (unfinished) AU of Obey Me where MC is Pearl Fey.

The cricket laughed.
“W-What hotel? Oh, oh, do you mean the… the absolutely destroyed one we passed by earlier?” he laughed again, “What a shame, truly! I heard it used to be such a nice place!”
“No,” the puppet said firmly, “Tell them.”
The light of the cricket’s lantern blinked a warning sign.
“No, no, pal,” he started to whisper, and Claudia couldn’t help but roll her eyes. “You’re not thinking straight. We can’t take them to the hotel…!”
One side of the puppet’s face twitched.
Or: instead of continuing into Malum District without them, P invites the Red Fox and the Black Cat to join the others at Hotel Krat – without Gemini's approval, but that's beyond saying.

Linhardt closes his eyes as he considers the scenario. This, he can do for days. Spinning out a lofty theory, safe in the spools of what-ifs and maybes he can unravel like a well-to-do seamstress in the safety of her hearth and home, a stranger to the tides and tolls of war. Or simply in the monastery library that he used to wile away his nights in the academy without the shadow of invasion looming over him, his friends, and country. And sometimes even while Caspar came to distract him from his tomes, if he were at the library long enough to not be shooed for causing severe disruption after.
A life where he and Caspar could go and do whatever they wanted.
Then he opens his eyes. Back in the infirmary.
