    Summary

The mental soundtrack Langdon summoned during CPR had changed a few times over the years. In medical school, it was the classic Stayin’ Alive, until someone told him All Star by Smash Mouth was 104bpm. There was a brief stint where it was Dancing Through Life, because they saw it on Broadway for their anniversary, and Abby insisted he reminded her of Fiyero and kept singing it at him. But when Tanner was around two years old, it became Baby Shark, and hadn’t changed since. It was, actually, the perfect tool for CPR; thirty compressions slotted perfectly with each new shark, and the whole family lined up with five cycles per round before switching out.

Being in substance abuse recovery has more of an impact on heat stroke recovery than anyone, including Frank Langdon, would've expected. Or, Langdon runs a code in the ambulance bay, develops heat stroke, and seizes, the Ativan dilemma arrives immediately, and Robby has feelings.

Chapter 2, now with more Mel!

AU in which in an emergency situation, Hermann has to become Mako's jaeger co-pilot for a single battle and the lingering ghost drift has rolling effects on the rest of their lives.

(Basically, I get to make the bond between Hermann, Mako, Newt, and eventually Raleigh the emotional center of this canon au.)

Okay, so that’s how it is. Ilya is mad at him. For what, Shane has no clue but he’s sure of it now; sure that the source of the unrest he is sensing on the rink tonight is because his boyfriend is upset with him about something and is clearly determined to make his sour mood everyone else’s problem too.

Or, something is wrong with Ilya. Shane tries to find out what.

    Summary

There are men turning up dead in the woods, and Chief of Police Charlie Swan has a job to do—figure out what, or who, left the poor bastards torn up as they are. Chief of Police Charlie Swan is too old for this mess. Too old and too sick of this shit to pretend Forks is just a sleepy old rural town anymore. Between the gruesome corpses and the quiet, unsettling doctor Cullen who shows up like a statue in pressed slacks, lying through his teeth, Charlie’s got more questions than answers—and no one seems too keen on giving him either.

Charlie’s trying not to notice how his breath catches when the doc gets too close. He’s also trying not to notice how the bodies keep piling up, unsolved. Neither effort is going particularly well.

And if one more person tells him it was a bear, he’s going to shoot something. Probably not a bear.

    Summary

Here comes the million-dollar question: how do you tell your two best friends in the whole world that you’re in love with both of them?

They wish they could say they fell into it. That they slipped and suddenly loved each other and all knew it. That one day they bantered over their kitchen island—Charlie chopping the vegetables, Bosco preheating the oven, June mixing the salad—and paused, looking at each other, really looking. That upon doing so, they suddenly knew. That they sorted out all the heats and flicks and flares of jealousy and hurt and want in one glance. That it was easy.

    But—

June’s never been adept at falling: her feet are too quick, her legs too limber. Bosco fell once, and he takes great pains to ensure it never happens again: he’s not the kind of person to trust anyone to catch him, even after all this time. Charlie stumbles often—he’s used to falling flat on his face—but he finally has the chance not to, and he’s not giving in that easily.
