Summary
He wasn’t ever possessive, that felt unbecoming. Unholy, according to the Bible. But he was human. He got jealous when people encroached on what was his, envious when others had what he didn’t. But he did what he always did. He acknowledged it, repented, got over it, and moved on. At least, that was how it had always worked for Dennis. Until Robby. Because whatever fiery, irrational thing that took hold of him whenever someone flirted with Robby was unlike anything he'd experienced before.
Or, a familiar face of the past visits PTMC, and Dennis finds himself utterly possessive and jealous for the first time in his life.

“I put in 1095, but it won’t turn off!” Dennis shrieks, trying to be heard over the sound of the alarm. He knows that he didn’t get the numbers wrong because he’s staring right at them on the crumpled sticky note. “What am I doing wrong?”
“Did you push the off button?”
Dennis looks at the keypad, not seeing anything that says Off. “What?!”
“Put the code in and push the pound sign after.”
Dennis does as he’s told, except, in his panic, he hits the asterisk instead. “Shit.”
“It’s the hashtag,” Robby says, sounding entirely put out.
“I know what a pound sign is,” Dennis grumbles, hitting the button and noticing the word Off in the smallest font known to man under the #.

Robby’s gaze roamed across Dennis's face, tracing the planes and sharp angles of his features like he was trying to commit them to memory. He already had a long time ago. The horrible, aching knot in his chest dedicated to Dennis was a piece of Robby that he tried, time and time again, to rip out. Always to no avail.
If he had anything to come back for, it’d be this one thing.
"Marry me," Robby said.
Robby, about to head out for his sabbatical and never return, thinks to hell with it—nothing matters except for the very real, very inappropriate feelings he's been harboring for his first-year resident. So he proposes. And before he can take it back, Whitaker says yes.

Summary
Robby had money. He had worked his way up to senior attending of an ED with as minimum expenses as a doctor could have. Dennis had almost no money. He received a $250 monthly education styphined that went to paying off his less than friendly creditors and he was left to scrounge from there.
So it shouldn't have been too surprising that upon letting Dennis live with him and subsequently fall in bed with him Robby would be more that willing to cover as many of Dennis living expenses as he could. Or at least it wouldn't have been too surprising to anyone but Dennis, who didn't quite know how to deal with all of his things suddenly being paid for.
This is a continuation of my story I Think I Love You, but it can absolutely be read as a standalone collection of sugar daddy oneshots.

Dennis hummed. “And you’re not. No late night tonight, but I’ll take care of you.”
Oh. Dennis was going to take care of him. He felt like a sleeper agent, the way everything in him began to unspool at those words.
A phrase came unbidden to Michael’s mind. I love you, he thought. I love you floated by through the peace in his head. I love you, I love you, but saying it with a tongue so heavy felt like another few metres for his Sisyphean boulder to roll, and so he kept quiet, peaceful, sinking into calm waters and satisfied with the knowledge that Dennis knew he was loved anyway.
(Or, they will always take care of one another, and this is how Dennis does it.)
