Summary
Yeonjun watches the interaction from the side of the room, beleaguered by the warm and inviting atmosphere around him. Yeonjun is one of those people who feels embarrassed by the way their parents love them, as if care loses value when it’s too freely given. Yeonjun wants his life to be a fight; otherwise, it would be impossible for him to win. It’s just one of his quirks, if one of his more aggravating ones. No matter, because Beomgyu is an emotionally secure person who doesn’t mind losing every now and then for the sake of Yeonjun’s self-esteem.
Only now and then, though. Otherwise it would be too easy. That’s where Soobin’s mistake is, Beomgyu thinks. He just makes it all too easy.Or: In every way but name, Beomgyu is Yeonjun's boyfriend. He wishes he wasn't, sometimes.
