When Adolin takes the fall for something he didn’t do, Dalinar sends him to serve anonymously in Amaram’s army.
There he meets Kaladin, his squadleader and new roommate. Adolin’s flirty, sunshine charm slowly breaks through Kaladin’s walls, and they eventually fall for each other.
Then, Amaram betrays them. He tries to kill Adolin and sells Kaladin into sexual slavery.
When Adolin finally finds Kaladin again, he’s broken. He doesn’t believe the man he once loved could be a prince.

Kaladin was never going to get used to this. To Adolin speaking to him like that. Still, somehow, he found the nerve to narrow his eyes in mock challenge.
“You sure you’re ready to see just how good of a kisser I’ve become?” he asked.
Adolin’s eyebrows rose, lips parting into a handsome grin. He leaned in slowly. “I’ll always be ready,” he said. “Because I’m the one who taught you. And you…” He brought his lips so close they were almost brushing. “You’re never going to kiss anyone else. You’re mine.”

Summary
When Navani discovered she’d misplaced one of her experimental fabrials related to changing form she immediately initiated a search. But it was nowhere to be found within the tower. Even the sibling couldn’t locate it.
Turns out Adolin had found it on his way to a meeting with Dalinar. He intended to return it to Navani but his father ordered him to leave immediately to investigate movement on the outskirts of the Plains. So it was safely tucked away in one of Adolin’s pockets as he soared through the sky alongside Kaladin, while a storm was forming on the horizon.
