Jack blinked. “What do you mean?”
She glanced into the patient's room, then back at Jack, a quick burst of skepticism crossing her face. “Look at him,” she urged gently. “He looks like he wants to run through the wall Looney-Tunes style just to escape a hand on his arm.”
A revealing chat with McKay brings up some unexpected questions for Jack regarding Robby's apparent aversion to touch. Being of a scientific mind, he can't abide by his previous oversight. Naturally the only course of action is to embark on a rigorous, methodical investigation into the matter. For the sake of curiosity, obviously. No other reason.

Summary
Everyone thinks Dr. Robby is depressed for the usual reasons; they have no idea how deep it goes. It's too dangerous for him to love, and you, running from a violent stalker, don't even have romance on the mind until you're paged into his life. Maybe, in the end, you both get what you need.
Unhinged Robby Is a Werewolf stuff. The werewolf lore is my own, just vibes. I tried to keep the details of the afab reader vague, but I may have to add some more specific things here and there (she is a nurse, she's a goth in her past life). This series will deal with sensitive topics like stalking, domestic abuse, and coercive control (Robby is not the instigator, but the reader's ex is a dirtbag). Harsh language and smut. Dennis is just trying to catch his breath in the ambulance bay. They're caught up on the morning nursing home rush as much as they can be and it's only about noon. For a half second, he thinks Dr. Abbott is stumbling towards him, covered in blood. He only notices when he's nearly in front of Abbott’s doppelganger that he's wearing shorts and there's a flesh and bone leg where his prosthetic should be.
“Hey, you look like you could use some help,” Dennis says, reaching out to offer his arm but not touching him. “I'm Dr. Whitaker.”

“Did you push the off button?”
Dennis looks at the keypad, not seeing anything that says Off. “What?!”
“Put the code in and push the pound sign after.”
Dennis does as he’s told, except, in his panic, he hits the asterisk instead. “Shit.”
“It’s the hashtag,” Robby says, sounding entirely put out.
“I know what a pound sign is,” Dennis grumbles, hitting the button and noticing the word Off in the smallest font known to man under the #.
