“A shame,” James says.
“You could come over and listen to it at my house, though,” Lily blurts out in one breath before she can think better of it. “Over summer hols, I mean,” she adds, more slowly. “If you wanted.”
“If I wanted,” James echoes, laughing and shaking his head. “I’d love to, Evans.”
“Maybe on a less lovely day,” Lily says.
“Hard to imagine a day being anything less than lovely if I get to spend it with you,” James says with a roguish grin.
