“Training.” he repeats dryly, the word tired on his tongue. “You got a point to all this or were you just tired of studying?”
“Well, if you’d let me get to it,” Aki huffs, a tinge of irritation colouring his tone. He stands up, shelving his book before plopping himself down across from Shinjiro.
“I wanted to try it.”
Shinjiro’s first thought is quick. Something along the lines of There’s no way he’s serious.
“Good luck finding a partner.” he scoffs, decidedly switching his attention back to the neglected periodical, flipping the page.
Akihiko, however, presses on. His finger reaches into the bending spine of the glossy paper, tipping it down. “Are you saying you're not interested?”
"Me?"
Akihiko hears about an unconventional leg workout. Naturally, he's inclined to try it.

“Were you dreaming?” Akira asked, easing towards the edge of the bed. His feet landed on the floor and he stretched his arms up over his head. Whatever he’d heard, he didn’t seem intent on going back to sleep. Shit. This was going to be it - Akira had heard something and now he was going to grab his stuff and go to Sakamoto’s room, and never to talk to Mishima again.
He had to ignore it. Even as the idea made him want to sit up, ease towards the edge of the bed, and ask -- 'did you hear me? Did you enjoy it?'
Akira would never speak to him again.
“Uh… I think so,” Mishima tried to laugh. It came out a little breathless. “I don’t remember what about, though.”
“You don’t?”
“It was about you. I- I think.”
“I could have guessed that much,” Akira said in a voice that was… not disgusted.---

"Seriously, what is that thing?" Hinata couldn't hide his disdain even a little.
Komaeda seemed disappointed, likely more because Hinata was disappointed than anything to do with the pain gnawing at his own stomach. "Hmm... I don't know. Some kind of toy, I guess?" It was long, smooth, cylindrical, and lacquered to a shine; crudely painted and shaped to look sort of like a person in only the most symbolic sense. It was carved with a simple, rounded shape at one end to represent the head. On the other end, under the "feet", was a small red button. "It's kind of heavy for something made of wood," he noted, turning it over in his hands.
Hinata snatched it from him impatiently and pressed the button. A low buzzing sound filled the room and he dropped it as though he'd been bitten. The "doll" moved slowly sideways across the bed, vibrating intensely. Hinata caught the blurred expression in its painted dot eyes and thought it looked like it was asking for help.
"Uhhhh."
"Oh!" Komaeda clapped his hands once. "It is a toy!"
