Summary
Frank has never been a good sleeper. It's a blessing and a curse in turn, but he's made peace with needing less sleep than anyone he's ever met.
And then he meets Mel King, and she changes that.
(She changes everything.)
OR — Over a series of late night talks, texts, FaceTimes, and maybe dates, Langdon and Mel fall in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once.

Summary
The two of them watched silently for a moment, anxiously waiting to see if there was enough bleeding to soak through the generous amount of gauze. When that didn’t happen, they each let out another breath.
A small smile curled at the corner of Mel’s lips, though she wasn’t quite sure why. Langdon, who’s mouth had been hanging slightly open in focus, instantly mirrored the expression when he glanced up to check on her again.
“Well that’s a new one.”
“What, you’ve never taken glass out of someone’s arm before?” She was incredulous.
“No, I’ve never had someone smile at me right after I removed glass from their arm.” Mel’s smile widened.
“Guess I’m just happy to be glass free.” She shrugged. “Well, almost glass free.” Touching the frame of her glasses.
“Those you should keep.” He said, returning his focus to her arm.

Summary
"Didn’t make any friends during orientation?”
She laughed- then stopped abruptly because that was actually not a joke. “Um…no. I don’t make friends easily.”
She waited for him to look at her with pity, or offer false reassurances. He looked mildly contemplative instead. “I think most people’s ‘friends’ are actually just acquaintances, anyway.”
Mel blinked. “You think so?”
“It’s important to remember that most people are bullshitting you like…at least sixty percent of the time.”
Mel wasn’t sure if this extended to him. If it did, would he tell her? Probably not.

“You must be…?” Her step-mom turned towards Langdon, eyes tracking up and down him. Her thin eyebrows were tilted up, surely in surprise.
“I’m Frank,” Langdon smiled, reaching forward with his other hand to shake her hand. He leaned across the table to shake her step-sister’s hand, before turning to Mel’s father and looking at him. “I’m Mel’s boyfriend.”✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
