Summary
[Time passes oddly. Between one second and the next, Sokka has the Fire Lord pinned to the wall with his hands around the bastard’s throat. Golden eyes (one gold eye, his mind whispers) widen in shock.
“Sokka?” he chokes out. And then he smiles.
What the fuck?
“Sokka, I—”
Sokka slams his head against the wall, once, twice, and the smile wipes off his face. Good.
“What,” Sokka bites out, “have you done to my sister?”]

An injury leaves Sokka with amnesia. His last memory is of the failed invasion, of leaving his father behind in enemy territory on the Day of Black Sun. Of hopelessness. Rage.
But then he wakes up, and the war is over. Suddenly, he must come to terms with the fact that years have passed, and that he's somehow the Southern Water Tribe Ambassador to the Fire Nation. He is also supposedly friends with banished-Prince-turned-Fire-Lord Zuko, of all people. Close friends.

He tried to explain to Mother once, the way his skin crawled when his hair brushed the back of his neck or someone called him pretty. She had sat patiently, arms wrapped around his middle under their favorite tree, while he struggled to find the words to explain why he wasn’t her daughter. She had hummed softly as if she understood while brushing a stray hair from his forehead. “I love you, Zuko.” She had murmured softly just for him. “Please don’t tell anyone else, okay? It’ll be our secret. Promise me.”
He remembers how soft she touched him; how gentle she had been as she waited for him to promise to hide himself. He was still young but he understood mother’s promises were always to protect him, especially when they hurt.
“I promise.”

Zuko reclaims the broken body his parents gave him one haircut at a time.

Summary
Luke's lost faith in love, in life in general. Sam and AJ try to help, Tom isn't told anything. They don't want him to worry, or to go back into habits that used to tear his life apart. But secrets can only be kept for so long. At least Tom's better at keeping his own secrets, until he finds someone who actually understands.
