Summary
The sun is fully down, stars bright on the dark sky, beer cans and plates empty and Hizashi is pushing him inside. Shouta takes a shower and changes into one of his sweaters, pajama pants and softer socks, coming out to the kitchen. He stops in the doorway, watching Hizashi unload the dishwasher, music playing softly in the background. How inviting.

Summary
After trying to redact the message for a minute, Hizashi gave up, pushing his phone in his pocket and deeply regretting walking here. He didn’t take the car, so he didn't have to find a parking space in the middle of the city and now he could not even use a heater. His boots squeaked with a snowy path, but Hizashi couldn’t feel his toes anymore, walking by the pure power of his manliness, or whatever was pushing him home right now.

If someone asked Shouta what his biggest regret was, he would probably curl more into his yellow sleeping bag and snore in response. It wasn’t a difficult question, the answer was always on his mind, haunting him day and night, but it wasn’t anybody’s business. At least that’s what he thought before.

“What do you want to be when you grow up?”
“An astronaut! I’m going to fly into space one day!” Colton declared in all his five-year-old authority. “I’ll fly to the moon and look down at the entire Earth and see everything!”
“You can’t look ‘down’ at Earth,” Ryland huffed. “There is no up or down in space.”
“Whatever. You’ll come, too, won’t you Ry?”
“No way, Colt. You’re the crazy one. I’ll just do the math for you to go to space.”
“Deal!”
Except, of course things don’t go that way. Ryland is the one that gets sent into space, leaving Colt behind on a cold and starving world. Ryland wakes up alone on a spaceship light years away from Earth, wondering why his face reminds him of someone else. Colt looks up towards the stars every day, wishing and wondering if he will ever get to see his brother again.In other words, the Coltland twins AU has consumed me and I had to write my piece about them, of them growing up over the years before being forced apart by their doomed narrative.
