Summary
Sae’s heart gets broken, so jokingly he draws a pentagram, circles it with salt just in case, and recites bad verses from an old, absurd tome — a cookbook, no less — to summon a demon for his vengeance.
But the joke’s on him. The ritual works, and before he knows what’s happening, there’s a demon in his kitchen, looking as murderous to be there as Sae is shocked to see it. Now, Sae is stuck with an actual demon, but not quite far from the revenge fantasy he had momentarily entertained.
//or,
Sae summons Shidou, a demon who loathes humankind with all he has.

Summary
He had never felt this way about anyone else before. Just looking at Hinata made his mind break. He didn’t know what to call the emotion, and he was still at a point where most emotions were immediately reinterpreted as anger, or annoyance. He didn’t know what to do. He had too much pride, so much pride. He wanted Hinata to break first, to make the exception for Kageyama first, to say ‘I don’t date actors but I would date you; I can’t do long-term but I could with you; I’m bad at one-night-stands but I could make it work with you’. Too much pride. He knew he was at a disadvantage. He had always known. He knew he felt double, triple, an exponential factorial of whatever Hinata felt. He had always known.
“If I asked you to go to war for me, would you do it?”

Summary
“I just got this job, I’m not givin’ it up for some moral boost ‘cause I actually need to pay my rent, ya insensitive -” Atsumu waves his hands around, trying and failing to come up with the right word to convey the amount of injustice that this gaunt motherfucker has brought into his relatively simple life thus far.
“If you can’t pay your rent, go get a job at the McDonald’s over by 8th Street,” Sakusa growls, “it’ll pay more than your researcher position.”
If you even attempt assault on a coworker, forget teaching about cells - you’ll fucking be in one, Atsumu.

Summary
“What unites both generations [OF ASIAN AMERICANS], Eng and Han suggest, is a kind of linguistic lack, a missing vocabulary—a paucity of stories that they might tell themselves about where they are going, and what it would mean to feel whole.”
Kiyoomi Sakusa has spent the last seventeen years believing he is boring. He has never met anyone inclined to challenge this belief.

Summary
“The Kansai region—which includes Kyoto, Amagasaki, and Osaka—experiences a rainy season known as tsuyu (alternatively: baiyu). It is written with the characters ‘plum’ and ‘rain,’ as it coincides with plums purpling and plumping. Beginning toward the birth of June and lapsing in late July, tsuyu lasts approximately six weeks.”
Your name is Miya Atsumu. You have learned that life is armed to the teeth, and you have bared your fangs in return.
