I wasn't sure abt this at first but like. I read all 51 chapters didn't I. I guess it's a frustrating read in terms of their relationship progression, but that makes the softer, more intimate moments all the more gratifying. gotta rec it cause I read it all in like a day and a half
edit from my 2026 reread: I know why i bookmarked this and it's probably because it FUCKING RIPS!!! one of THEE slowburns of all time holy shit. aos jim is a shithead and I love him so much. I love that we get to discover spock's emotionality slowly along with jim. so many moments where things just seem to slot into place for them, and moments where you see them struggle through it. my original use of gratifying is still apt. SO GOOD WOWWWWIE!!!! I think me from 6 years ago (WOW HOLY SHIT WHAT THE HELL. originally bookmarked April 2020, rereading in Feb 2026) just had a brain that was too rotted by what I can only assume were gratuitous amounts of smut. hence the lukewarm review. but trust that I'm seeing the light and that this is deeeeeelicious
