George Weasley never cared much about grades until he received a P in Transfiguration.
“A P in Transfiguration with Miss Hawthorne in the same year as you is almost offensive, Weasley.”
“To me or to her?”
“To me.”
Sitting across from Professor McGonagall’s desk, George tries to look far less concerned than he actually is as she slides the dreadful exam toward him.
“Your next exam is in one month. If you do not receive an O, you will be removed from the Gryffindor Quidditch team.”
“You can’t do that.”
McGonagall peers at him over the top of her glasses.
“Can’t I?”
After a long lecture about irresponsibility, wasted potential, and a shocking lack of discipline, McGonagall offers the only solution George considers worse than losing Quidditch:
Miss Hawthorne.
Brilliant, painfully serious, and quite possibly the person who dislikes George the most in all of Hogwarts, you are the last person he wants to spend an entire month studying with.
The problem is that George desperately needs that grade. And against your better judgment, you end up agreeing to help him anyway.
