“Oh, the obvious. Steve.”

A short fic that explores how Will and Robin's conversation in "Shock Jock" could have gone, had the writers not been scared of qpr stobin and given the scene more emotion and time.

Summary
The (and I cannot stress this enough) SHORTEST Nova Artino mini study ever.
--
It was cold. Bad things always start with that, don’t they? The creeping cold, worming its way into the bones. It shouldn’t be cold, but no matter, because there were more pressing things to deal with.

Summary
The bleachers were packed with families: parents and grandparents and siblings, all dressed up, all holding cameras and flowers and balloons. Steve could see them from where he sat, could see the way they waved at their graduates, calling out names and taking pictures. The gym was full of people celebrating, full of love and pride and joy.
None of it was for him.
He knew the kids wouldn’t—couldn’t—be here, even if they wanted to be. They were still in school, and teachers wouldn’t have let them leave for the ceremony, since none of them were actually related to Steve.
His parents weren't here either. Steve had known they wouldn't be—had known it with the kind of bone-deep certainty that came from a lifetime of disappointments—but there was still a small, stupid part of him that had hoped. That had thought maybe, just maybe, they'd show up for this. His high school graduation: that was the thing parents were supposed to care about, right?
They probably didn't even remember it was today.
Probably didn’t even know he was graduating at all.

Summary
Robin knows no matter how much she wants it to be, that this isn't a dream.
She knows that even nightmares can't be like this.
Here, she can smell the tang of dampness and rot, she can feel nothing but the persistent chill that never seems to go away and the dull pain in her body, the numbness of her hands.
So she knows this is all actually real... and she refuses to admit it.
Stuck in a paradox. Unwilling to deny that this is happening, but unwilling to accept that it is. Regardless, there is one thing she knows for certain.
She knows that no one is coming.
That elevator ride had been a one way trip.

Summary
Steve is hurt. Bruises bloom across his face in glaring shades of purple, and similar patches of colour litter the rest of his body as well. It's dark now, but Dustin got to witness the severity of his injuries when his mom cleaned Steve up in the many places his wounds started bleeding. It was by no means a pretty sight— He looked quite dreadful, actually. And not just because of the many ways his body was damaged… There was something frightened, almost animalistic in the way Steve's eyes darted around the room, visibly fighting the urge to lean away from Claudia and the wet wash cloth.
What did they do to you, buddy?

Summary
Steve Harrington wants to die.
He’s wanted to for a long, long time. Sort of. He never really tried to, but the thought was there. The concept of death had always lingered in the back of his mind, never quite making itself known but still there. It was there when he threw himself in front of a Demogorgon to protect Nancy and Jonathan. It was there when he instigated a fight with Billy to protect the kids. It was there when he was drugged and beat and tortured by Russian soldiers who believed he was the enemy. It was always there. Steve Harrington had never tried to die, but he surely wasn’t afraid of it.
And the Radio Tower at the Squawk is tall. Really, really tall. And Dustin hates his guts, and all he’s good for is nothing. All he is is a useless and stupid and idiotic fuck-up who ruins every chance he gets at making things better, and all he deserves is the sweet release of death.
And the Radio Tower at the Squawk is really, really tall.

AKA Steve is suicidal and he works at the one place where he could easily embrace death. Set right before s5

Summary
Steve tells the kids to stay behind, and goes to make sure Billy isn't still at the house by himself. Just his luck then, that Billy is awake already and pissed as hell. Keeping very consistent with his track record so far, Steve loses the ensuing fight, which is bad news for his already damaged brain.
The medical inaccuracies tag is just a precaution in case I do get something wrong; I have been doing my best to research.
