Lyon saw a hooded figure approach with hesitation, once they were next to Perry, he saw slender feminine hands reach to the hood and lower it slowly, his eyes widening in recognition. There was no mistaking the pale skin, blue eyes and beautiful blue hair.
“Juvia-chan?” Lyon asked in surprise.
The woman blinked, dark blue eyes confused and with not a drop of recognition seeing him. “Juvia? Is that my name? Do you know me?”

“No! No, no, I see it just fine! It’s just, well…” Varka shrugs helplessly. “Well.”
“Well what? Have you at least the decency to see how unfair it is?”
Nicole feels no part angel in this moment - right now she is simply a friend to mortals who will live a fraction of her lifespan, and she revels in it. For some of the increasingly frequent moments between a confession and a shared drink she can almost brush her fingers against the understanding that she has been unknowingly chasing ever since Ivanovna died - she brushes her fingers against the shape of love, of a bias born for friends and those close to the heart.
But it is a night of merry-making. There is no place for such a revelation as dangerous as this, not when it concerns Nicole’s death sentence.
Varka clears his throat. “Er. Unfair? I mean, I wouldn’t say it’s unfair, exactly.”
This man. And the audacity.
He’s going to be the death of her.

“Glad to be noticed. Finally,” Nicole replied, her tone carrying a hint of a smile. “Are you okay?”
Varka leaned his head back, closing his eyes. "Wow, look at that. I’m hungry, wounded, and a complete mess, but I’ve got a beautiful angel looking after me. If this is the service I get, I’m probably going to get myself lost every once in a while. Maybe I'll make it a weekly thing."
