He hadn’t even gotten to see a single strand of Riddle’s hair, and now Sea Bream had the audacity to send him proof that Goldfish had gone and gotten even cuter without him there to see it in real time?
Absolutely not.
If even one more person tried to stop him on his way to Riddle’s dorm, he was going to squeeze them until they popped.
With a newfound purpose surging through him, he shoved his phone into his pocket and yelled over his shoulder, “Jade! I’m heading out!”
Jade didn’t even look up. “Should I prepare bail now or later?”
Floyd grinned, already halfway out the door. “Later~!”

“You’re really here.” Satan spoke so softly, as if afraid to shatter some sort of false reality.
It almost scared you to ask, “Where would I be?”
Pushing you away, he fixed you with a glare that had you wondering if you had spoken in some foreign tongue. “You disappeared.”
“I what?”
“Disappeared. Vanished.” His hands flexed where they gripped your shoulders, a welcome weight reassuring that you really were there. Satan’s eyes burned with an intensity that scorched your bones. “You haven’t been seen in... How long has it been now? Ninety-five years? Ninety-seven?”
A familiar voice snickered in the back of your mind, reminding you that tropes loved round, whole numbers. If what Satan disclosed was true, then the script would be foolish not to clean it up. You gambled, “A hundred years.”
It was supposed to be a special, one-day-only celebration. A superhero event to introduce the denizens to the teachings of the Royal Academy of Diavolo. There wasn't supposed to be a magic script, and it definitely wasn't supposed to rewrite the history of the Devildom.
