“Uhg, sorry for that.” Ron muttered with disgust that only could be matched by the memory of the time he spent half a day vomiting slugs.

“Evidently not,” Lucius replied examining Draco for any scratches or bumps. He’d hear it from Narcissa as thought it was his fault when little could be done when dealing with an energetic boy and not a porcelain figurine like his wife expected their son to be. “Since I can still pick him up quite easily. If I were to protest at this, Severus, I would have acquired myself a plant not a child.” At his son’s stormy look, he added. “Don’t mind Severus, Draco. You know he was raised by wolves.”

“Malfoy is staying here without his parents?” Neville Longbottom cut him off, in a rather unprecedented manner. “With them?”

There was something undeniably glamorous about being a spy during a war, something Snape, Lupin and Malfoy shared, and he could see it in the day people talked about them with bright eyes and hushed whispers.
The fact his former rival, their age, had successfully rescued both him and Hermione from the mouth of the dragon did not help put away that impression. Which’s to explain why Harry Potter felt like he was hit with Petrificus Totalus at the sight of the first heavy tears rolling down Draco Malfoy’s face.

Greyback died bloody and since everyone knew he had been threatening Draco for months, in the blink of an eye, Draco Malfoy went from abused heir to kingmaker.
“It goes without saying everyone in the Manor is assuming they’re shagging, of course.” Moody added without tact. “You slay a common foe together, you get a bit of gossip, I’m afraid.”

“Then I can only assume, Mr. Malfoy, you’ve partaking in some of the childish games you’ve learned from the Lestranges. So, I’ll say it just once: when contacted by a member of the Order to meet, you will make yourself known, immediately. To make matters more clear: you’ll cease to play “tag”, Draco, with those who are perfectly capable of killing you.”
