He’s practically been throwing himself at Sethos, really. Rather, it’s Sethos who appears entirely too happy avoiding it altogether. If Wanderer were a fool, he’d assume his read of Sethos to be incorrect. Since he isn’t a fool, there’s only one other plausible explanation: Sethos, despite his feelings, does not want to be with Wanderer.

“Hah!” Wanderer smirks, amused by her reaction. So even she knows that these novels are worthless in a studious environment—good. Still, he can’t help but tease her for it. “I can’t believe that this awful Inazuman literature has fans in Sumeru… I guess you must be the reason I'm forced to see it on the shelves here.”
“Nooo,” Collei says, shoving the book into the depths of her bag before waving her hands around in frantic embarrassment. “Really, really! I mean, it’s just easy for me to read. It’s totally cringey though, isn’t it? Like, all this nonsense about… about… having a dangerous sealed power, and telling everyone to stay away—aaah, I don’t even want to think about it!”
Somehow, Wanderer becomes Collei's temporary tutor.

She’s far more ill than he expected—her skin burns, the heat of it radiating through the fabric, and she’s too thin to be healthy. She coughs weakly into her hand, and she almost reminds him of—He looks away. He won’t allow himself to think about that. “You aren’t dead yet, and I’m not planning to kill you, either.”
The child stills immediately—as much as she can, at least, with the chill of fever still wracking her frail body—and Scaramouche only has a moment to feel some odd, foreign emotion build in his chest.
Scaramouche despises humans.
Unfortunately, Dottore's newest test subject is a sickly child barely clinging to life.

Summary
Columbina sees Scaramouche quite often during her trips to Dottore's lab, but they generally have very little to say to each other. Despite Sandrone's warning to stay away from the Doctor, Columbina doesn't stop going; it's only once Scaramouche tells her the same thing that she gives it a second thought.
Years go by, the number of Harbingers grows, and Columbina comes to realize the cost of finding a place for herself.

It's a new development, and a decidedly ugly one.
"Lesser Lord Kusanali," Wanderer purses his lips. "What's with the railings?"
The tiny deity pays his sour mood no mind. She's cooking up some sort of concoction, no doubt for him to take on what would otherwise be a quick trip if not for the numerous amounts of errands she has him running nowadays. Dottore left him quite a mess to clean up.
"Well, it wouldn't do for either one of us to fall," she says, with great seriousness.
Following the 6.6 archon quest and Nahida's concern about Wanderer's mental state.
