Love how zoro is a stunt artist (goat) and how even with sanji’s kickboxing and dealing he still wants to be a cook. Nami makes so much sense in Vegas though. ALSO love usopp my goat getting so much money from a fun gig.

Summary
Monkey D. Luffy was one of the strangest men Nami had ever encountered. She'd met him after he fell from the sky, he'd beaten up a trio of men each twice his size, and he shared her brothers mysterious middle initial. She finds him fascinating in a way she just has to understand, so she guesses she'll join his crew long enough to either figure him out or rob him blind.
Monkey D. Luffy was one of the most annoying men Law had ever encountered. He'd roped Law's little sister into joining his pirate crew, eaten as much as the entire rest of the town Law was staying in ate in a day, and then incompetently tried to flirt with him. However, Nami also seemed to have a strange confidence in the boy's abilities as a captain. So he supposes he'll stick with Strawhat long enough to find out what his deal is and possibly kill him.
An AU where Nami ropes her big brother Law into joining the Strawhat Pirates.

This author does an amazing job sharing how going through sickness or injury can suck, and also tackles issues like self worth and usefulness.
Ugh I’m making it sound so bland and standard but there’s something about the way this author writes that’s so raw and genuine that it really immerses you in the story.
The concepts I mentioned earlier are also very nicely covered and though I can only kind of relate with some things (the useful part) it still hits deep and helps me contemplate my own way of dealing with struggles and self-worth
All in all an immersive read with pretty interesting themes that make me more closely examine how I think of some things.

When Law woke up from his 500 year slumber, he sure as hell wasn't expecting to get a husband out of it.
He also wasn’t expecting to learn that he’d lost a chunk of his memories, or that he’d made new friends during this forgotten time. The marriage thing was weird though. To a king, no less. A very loud, very boisterous, very tactile king that never seemed to stop laughing. And what kind of king wore a straw hat anyway?
To top it all off, he still has a million other things to take care of, not the least of which is helping his new husband to secure their kingdom against oncoming threats.
But what Law doesn’t know is that there are more dangers lurking than he realizes. Ones from his past that have hidden for centuries, waiting for the right moment to strike. And he’ll need all the help he can get to keep them from consuming him.

STRAIGHT to my bookmarks
I already yapped in their comments but man oh MAN this was so fun. Like lowkey I get the hesitancy in calling it a soulmate au bc this is SO much more than that. I too was more focused on all of them getting to know law than whatever those bands meant.
The outsider au too!! Always a fun time and honestly this one nailed it too!
Lastly I just want to say their characterizations are absolutely wonderful, I love how everyone interacts with each other. I also love how the author tweaked them to fit into this world, but the characters still came with their own brand of crazy as they should.
Genuinely I don’t know how one thinks of a story like this and executes it in such a brilliant way. It’s also a fun time so I’m definitely going to reread.

Loved this
Not sure if the characters are in character, but the subject matter of the story really spoke to me as someone who’s feeling like a burnt out college student that needs direction in their life. I’ve not reached the highs of either of them nor am I dealing with issues of their severity, but I can really relate with struggling to find direction. I can really relate with feeling as though I peaked earlier in life. I can really relate with having difficulties forming connections.
Another thing is I also have never been in a relationship before and it is so curious seeing how these 2 approached it, and figuring it out themselves but also the relationship as the story progresses. I don’t often read stuff like that so it was an interesting new way to experience a relationship.
All I want to say is this really helps right now, and I’m curious to see what I think about this in the future when I’m further along my own walk of life

This definitely deserves the dead dove tag and is undoubtedly messed up. Like SO messed up with the foul trinity of incest, pedophilia, and grooming. But like… it’s so good.
Is this why people get into drugs? Is this the appeal of Epstein island? Bc this author does a great job at making these characters communicate, and have meaningful and realistic relationships, while also making it clear that yeah, they’re also really horrible people too (like alongside Cora saying that outright, I also appreciate that this fic doesn’t shy away from what the incest is. Like it acknowledges it’s there and that it’s bad but because of the nature of these relationships they’re doing it (or each other, I’m so funny) anyways).
I don’t even know how it’s possible that while being so guilty about reading incest, and underage liaisons, i also feel so much glee at the cool interactions in this fucked up world. Like doffy, Cora, and law seem so in character in this AU, like I can definitely see how they would have turned out this way. The interactions between them and that one celestial dragon, sengoku, pink, fujitora… like bro is COOKING.
Also slipping in sabaody, marineford, and the beginnings of dressrosa to make it kind of canon compliant? This author is SO GOOD. The open ending I believe also fits perfectly.
So yeah this is a fic full of juxtapositions. Fucked up content yet there are wholesome interactions. The world is just as bad but the relations between the main cast are actually improved.
I may feel foul and like my soul just sank down 5 levels of hell for reading this, but this fic is undoubtedly, indisputably a work of art -and I will be treating is as such. ❤️

This had such a unique vibe!
First, actual full send on platonic soulmates and it’s AMAZING. Bro the soulmate concept itself is pretty creative, I haven’t seen this one before. The main point though is that the platonic soulmates make sense but nami can also have romantic relations and it’s so beautiful.
ALSO, love love love the way you write Namis voice. You channel her so well and it’s fantastic.
The crew is also fantastic and their little interactions are all so in character

All of the worst generation were lowkey screwed over and didn’t reach their potential, sans Blackbeard (or Urouge! You’re our last hope!), but I think MAYBE Kid can still be cool and this fic helps me with my delusions. I really appreciate the depth added to his character and yeah, let’s make him come from another town with a tragedy bc like they said that’s just how their world is. Also love the irony of his fruit and his specific tragedy of course.
On to the sappy stuff! I’m a sucker for complicated relationships, or ones that don’t quite work out, so what Kid and Law have here is actually beautiful. It’s cool that they DID have this kind of connection before, but just not one quite fully formed. I love how Luffy was integrated and how Kid eventually reached closure with Law. Arghhh I’m explaining it so badly but I truly love how their relationships progressed and I’m really pleased with the ending.
Speaking of the ending, YES ABSOLUTELY Kid should still try to find the One Piece, and I really wish that drive still exists in canon and Kid becomes a respectable rival threat typa character in the future (PLEASEEE PLEASEEEEE it’d be so cool). ALSO love the hint about trying to find Bonney and I know that’s not gonna happen in canon at this point but it’s a cool idea.

Kudos to the author bc I’m convinced and converted.
It was so interesting to read how their relationship progressed, and I really like their characterizations in this story. This was just such a fascinating read and the author truly did justice to their fascinating fucked up but significant relationship.
Along with their fun interactions, the first sex scene was lowkey fire bc it was so fun while also being kinda fucked up. Like I was lowkey smiling throughout and idk it just gave me a sense of joy that I think a lot of sex scenes lack. Bro I may be kinda fucked up for saying this about an enemies to lovers pairing of all things 😭
Anyways! Last significant point is I love the last chapter and the ending. Like one of the comments said, the open ending makes so much sense, and I also do think it makes sense for their characters to not really NEED to play a role in the final battle or revolution or whatever happens.
Anyways! My eyes are opened, I’ll be starving for more, and SO many kudos 🪡

Okay I’m kinda picky with this pairing bc I think it only works in very specific framings but I really loved this!! (okay okay pause: I realize the irony in saying this but then bookmarking a law doffy fic right after 😂. My reasoning later still stands though bc let’s be honest, this pairing isn’t intrinsically toxic like that one is. I also realize I’m just fucking lying now bc law and luffy is my most bookmarked relationship but I still stand by what I’m going to say)
Back to the regular note:
I won’t lie, part of it IS because it covers heartbreak and moving on and a messy reconciliation bc those are topics I rarely see in other fanfiction. (Also, I LOVE the concept of hanahaki being resolved by a confession. It’s the first time I’ve seen this concept and now I’ll be itching to see more 🤩) However! I also greatly enjoyed the interactions between law and the heart pirates and how the heart pirates were characterized. I just really appreciate that they were an important part of the story. Also! Love law’s interactions with robin which was actually the tag I was browsing when I found this fic lol.Finally, I just like how they are written to be as equals in this story. That’s usually my main gripe with this pairing bc they SHOULD be equals but bc the straw hats are the main characters imo the narrative often doesn’t treat them as such. Even when people write them, I’m just mildly irked by how law is not given enough respect by the rest of the characters, or luffy is treated like an idiot by the rest of the characters, as a few examples.
