Summary
Bilbo Baggins wasn't the only member of the company Gandalf chose as he picked one more: an elleth named Húniel who has more skeletons in her closet than some might think at first glance. The dwarves aren't very happy about this development, but reluctantly agree to let her join for at least the beginning of their quest.
Traveling all across Middle-Earth and slowly growing closer to her new companions despite the animosity between elves and dwarves, Húniel will need to use all of her skills to keep them all safe in a slowly darkening world. She will happily face any foe that comes on their path, but soon finds something she would much rather flee from:

Celebrimbor wasn't the only grandchild that Fëanor had. Maglor had a daughter Eglanel who went with him. After being sent away by her father with the twins, she has to watch as her uncle jumps into a volcano and her father goes into self-exile after giving her a look that's so full of loathing, she doesn't know if it's aimed at her or not
Losing many more friends and family over the next three ages, she doesn't know how much more she can take. By the time the third age arrives, only her relationships with Elrond, his children and Glorfindel stop her from fading. She goes with Aragorn to pick up the hobbit that has the One Ring.
One night as they're travelling, Aragorn and Eglanel hear someone singing in the distance...

Her mother died in childbirth, her father was killed by Melkor, her brother convinced her nephews, his sons, to take an oath with him, and through it, she lost Fëanor and five of his seven sons. After the Last Alliance with Elves and Men, the daughter of Finwë, along with her two remaining nephews, Maedhros and Maglor, disappeared from the elven cities, only to be spotted once or twice by young hobbit children venturing too far from home.

Summary
She hadn't understood what uniting the Hallows would truly mean when she'd read her grandfather's private journal from of the Second Blood War. She'd only done it because she seemed to be sharing a similar Fate to him. She'd wanted to understand, wanted any advantage to be had. Of course, she didn't realize that by uniting them she would be the cause of his death, after a fashion.
She really hadn't expected to be snatched from her world, instead of coming back from death in her own as her grandfather had done.
She certainly hadn't expected to essentially be remade as some sort of angelic spirit-being, made kin to those who had Sung this new world into existence.
She resented the Lord of Death, called Námo, for quite a lot. There was darkness in this new world that was both like and unalike to her homeworld.
But at least he'd had the decency to teach her what she needed to know since he'd claimed her.
Still, she didn't think she would go around telling anyone she was actually Death's Herald. It sounded terrible, really, even if it truly wasn't. A small part of her understood the Vala's desire to have a Herald of his own, like his brother Vala did.

Summary
Holly had a feeling someone very high above wasn't so fond of her. Or maybe she's being greatly favored, which is clearly unwanted, because there really is no other explanation for the current state she's in. That or her rotten Potter Luck.
She should've known that having the Hallows on her person for measly minutes counted something. It didn't matter if she'd splintered the wand into a couple of pieces, nor did it matter that she'd left the stone somewhere in the Forbidden Forest. Holly believed in the existence of Higher Entities and the latter were clearly on to something with this stint.
But Holly was resourceful and quite adept to adapting, therefore this unbelievable, new life should be a breezy walk in the park. Or however that saying exactly goes.
