Summary
Mirzhev had escaped serving Jiran to fill his father's empty pantry only to end up serving a Bandit Clan leader from the south at Shattered Kiln. At least it was his choice this time. All was going reasonably well until two years after Avad took the Sun Stole from his dead father's head. Stories came filtering in from the odd hostage they kept, the random person looking to join up, of creatures that went bump in the night. Blood for hair, eyes that glowed in fire light, razor sharp teeth. They slunk in the red weeds, whistling to one another, and drug their human meals silently into the night never to be seen again.
He didn't believe the stories, just campfire tales to tell when it grew cold at night.
Until he found out...there was some truth to them.

You were nearly dead,” Nil explained as the man attempted to move, to sit up using an arm he didn’t have any longer. He pressed his other hand on the man’s chest to keep him down. “I healed you, but I am not skilled at that school of magic. You should keep still.”
The man’s eyes took a little more focus as he looked Nil up and down, his hand releasing Nil’s wrist with a hiss. “Bas saarebas.”
Nil wasn’t entirely sure he hadn’t just been insulted and sniffed accordingly. “Grateful thing aren’t you?”

Summary
In which Amara doesn't bring back Mary, she brings back John Winchester.
Dean is uncertain what Amara's meaning is when she brings John back, and struggles with coming to terms with the new family dynamic. Sam tries harder to keep the peace than he used to, and Cas does not get along with John at all- though he tries. Testosterone is at an all-time high as these four men struggle to coexist in the hunting world with very different ideologies.
We explore just how much the brothers have changed in the ten years without their father's guidance, the trauma they still haven't resolved, and the feelings that Dean and Cas hold for one another despite the very real and new barrier that is John.
