The Patrick in question does a double take. “Pete? What are you-”
“Got out early,” Pete crows, waving a sheaf of papers at Patrick. “The paperwork actually went through on time. I’m a free man and an academic failure now.”
“And you decided the best way to celebrate was…Chick-Fil-A?” Patrick questions, raising an eyebrow at Pete over the little tablet he'd previously assumed he was going to take an order on. He looks left, to the line of cars stretching around the block. He looks back to Pete, who rolls his eyes. “No, idiot, the celebration is you. Obviously.”
