“Do you feel that with him?”
“What are you saying?”
Eddie’s laugh came out jagged, raw, like it had been scraped from somewhere deep inside. Nervous. “What I’m saying is- dump him.”
Eddie reached, fingers grazing Buck’s jaw, tilting his face up slightly. “You ever think about this?”
Buck’s breath hitched, eyes searching. “This?” he echoed, but the way his body leaned closer betrayed his feigned ignorance.
Eddie’s thumb brushed his lower lip, a slow, deliberate move that sent a shiver down his spine. “Yeah,” Eddie murmured, his voice a warm rumble. “This.” And just like that, so easily, so simply, he closed the gap, his lips brushing Buck’s in a tentative kiss, testing the waters.
“He’s-” Buck started, voice cracking, his hands gripping Eddie’s wrists, not to push him away but to hold on, caught in the push-pull of longing and need. “He’s in the next room, Eddie.”
Eddie’s jaw clenched, breath hot against Buck’s cheek as he leaned closer, lips hovering just shy of another kiss. “And yet here you are… with me…”
