    The short walk from the entrance here was enough to soak him. His hair hung in his eyes as he raised his head to see who was giving him shelter. He gasped in surprise and then frowned, but it was not visible through his wet hair. “You?” he mumbled.

    Scaramouche just grinned at him, then shrugged and pulled back his arm, which he was using to hold his hat over them, leaving Sethos standing in the rain again. “If you’d rather get wet,” he said arrogantly, “and here I was, hoping to get some of your present again.” 

    Sethos always thought that first love would hit him like a heavy blow, but of course he didn't expect it to sweep over him like a hurricane. Not only did this, admittedly somewhat strong wind, almost knock him off his feet, but it also ruined his hairstyle. It hurled him against the nearest wall and ripped the air out of his lungs without asking, and yet this day had started so wonderfully, so harmlessly.
