Summary
Lestat smells him before he hears him. Which is saying something, because Louis’ voice is the kind that leaves marks. That aching kind of tenor, half-smoke, half-sacrament, each note curled around some bleeding wound.
Lestat has not served a god in centuries, Louis proves to be a worthy replacement.

I need some company – something!” he pauses, grows quieter. “I need to bring someone home to Mama from time to time. I won’t let her worry no more.”
“Mais oui, someone,” Lestat says bitterly. “Someone that’s not me.”
He hates himself for it, but Louis is amused, coaxing his smile not to bloom in his face as he looks down at Lestat with a question in his eyes. “Les, Mama’s just now beginning to grasp that I’ve got a little sugar in my tank – you think she’s gonna go for me being a vampire fucker without putting up a fight?”
or, Louis' suitors keep mysteriously disappearing, and he can't pretend he doesn't know what's going on. having a vampire boyfriend is NOT easy

"I won't let you keep bending reality however you want it—” Louis abruptly stopped talking when Lestat lightly stroked the ridge of his throat with the back of a finger, then tickled the underside of his jaw with three claws. Lestat relished watching Louis stiffen and shiver.
“It really is nice,” Lestat said in a way that suggested that it was anything but, “that you and Armand are getting on so well.”
In which Louis unwittingly becomes Lestat's Muse and is sucked into the weird games of a divisive musical genius and his companion, Armand.
