It's been five months, eleven days, twelve hours and twenty two minutes since Grace arrived on Erid. The Beatles are on their way back to Earth, he has a job as a teacher again, the Eridians are so incredibly nice to him, he gets to hang out with Rocky all the time, and things are going very well.
Ignoring the fact that they won't know for upwards of two decades whether or not the Beatles have made it back to Earth. Ignoring the fact that sometimes Grace feels so lonely that all he can do is sit on the beach and stare out at the fake horizon until he can breathe again. But one day, all of that changes when an Eridian space ship brings back... another human?

“You are enough just as you are, and anybody who tells you different will find themselves laid out for spit’n that kind of bullshit at my kid.” He tucks her into his chest as the first broken sobs burst past her lips.
She might be eighteen, a legal adult, but she’s still just a kid looking for the comfort of a parent.
