"With what?" says Grantaire. "Ooh, are you forming a cult? Can I join? I'd be awesome at cults, I just know it." He ticks off his qualifications on his fingers. "I love chanting, I look great in robes—"

Summary

Jean Valjean has avoided arrest for nearly ten years since he was first released from prison after being arrested the first time, and he is the number one annoyance to one Detective Inspector Javert. And then Valjean breaks into his apartment to give him a painting. And then he continues breaking into his apartment to leave post-it notes on his refrigerator and gifts on his coffee table that Javert throws away at the first opportunity. And then Javert doesn't know what to think.
Javert hates his life and he hates art, but most of all he hates Valjean.

"Do you think," Javert said slowly, in a tone that perhaps meant to mock but trembled with another emotion entirely, "that once you have saved a life, you must also save that man's soul?"
