Summary
It was inevitable if the technology existed that it would be used and it would be abused. Given that, wasn’t it better for Phil to be a part of the Dollhouse, making sure that the Dolls were kept safe, than out there in the world obliviously letting the abuse happen? At least, that’s what he had to tell himself to come to work every morning.

Phil Lester is a "Handler" at the Dollhouse, an underground organization that offers their elite clientele access to programmable human "Dolls": real people stripped of their memories and re-coded to become the objects of fantasy or nightmare. Phil's job is to protect his assigned Doll, Delta, from those same clients.
Phil's good at his job, and so is Delta, until someone from the Doll's past life recognizes him in the field. In order to cover it up, the Dollhouse makes an unusual decision: reprogram Delta with his original Personality, at least for a little while.
And so Daniel Howell wakes up. And nothing is how he expected.

Summary
Phil Lester lives alone in a cabin deep in the woods, far from people, questions, and the past he barely survived. He tells himself he is fine with the quiet. Then, during a storm, a barefoot stranger appears at his door, soaked, terrified, and unable to explain where he came from. Letting Dan inside should feel dangerous, but leaving him outside feels worse.

Summary
Dan knows the couple's costume with Louise is a laugh. At least there's one other person at the party who's in on the joke.
“Er, sorry. I don’t actually know how to dance.”
Phil lifts his brows, jokingly accusatory. His hand is still on Dan’s shoulder. “Well, that didn’t stop you, did it?”
He colours; finds difficulty in suppressing the grin. “I—"
“Dan!”
At the sound of his name, he whirls around, immediately releasing Phil’s waist. His shoulders retract a bit in relief when he realises, again, that it’s only Louise, though he’s not entirely sure whether he’s wanted her to see him like this, whether better her or a stranger. He smiles; shifts, restlessly, as if to brush off any awkwardness, and champs at the bit. “Oh. Hey, I’ve been looking for you."
“I see you two’ve already become acquainted,” she muses, brushing off the blatant lie (which, honest, Dan is rather grateful for), and lifts forearms that trail into four small shot glasses, sparkling with coloured liquid. “Jelly shots, anyone?”

Summary
Phil Lester has been on the internet for almost twenty years.
He has a successful channel, a popular podcast, a home he loves, and a life that turned out exactly how he hoped it would. Which is why he can’t quite figure out why it suddenly feels like he’s stuck.The blond hair was supposed to help. It didn’t.
The tattoo, on the other hand, might be a worse idea.
