Eddie immediately turns his gaze back to the kitchen, shifting himself in his seat, fully expecting Buck to already be looking his way. They had always been telepathic like that, constantly seeking each other out in every room. It was second nature at this point. So many shared looks over the years, no matter the situation. Their own little code, a secret language of raised eyebrows and meaningful looks that was only theirs.
Except Buck wasn’t looking at Eddie like he’d expected. No, Buck’s eyes were on Ravi.

Darcy was nice. Sergeant Barnes was quiet (and a little moody) but mostly also nice. It sounded like they’d had a very romantic and private wedding.
Bernard was sure they hadn’t had time to fill out forms SRT-932-A parts 1-7 or HGE-324-C to declare their new relationship status at work. He'd take care of it. He could also update their state and withholding paperwork for them.
Considering how busy they both were, it was really the least he could do. They both did so much for other people. They deserved some help every now and then.

The threat of the Winter Soldier programming taking over is one that everyone at the tower (with high enough clearance to even know about him) takes very seriously. Before he's brought in, there are security drill after security drill, all kinds of briefings to read, strategically-placed and reinforced panic rooms, the whole nine yards. Neither Darcy nor Jane are particularly worried about it, it's unlikely they'll cross his path in general, but they do everything they're told anyway.
It turns out the prep they were given wasn't entirely unwarranted, but it does end up being a little useless. They were told to remain nonthreatening, which is easy to do, and to remain calm, which isn't. They were also told that the Soldier would be angry and violent, which he isn't. The blank coldness melts from his face, leaving him looking around him, confusion on his face.
