Clark speaks up. “You shouldn’t stay here tonight.” He warns, voice low but firm, just like it’s always been. “There’s too many chemicals even with the decontamination… it will take hours for the chemicals to leave the apartment… you’ll choke in your sleep…”
She clicks her tongue, ready to snap back, because of course she’d already realized that, but she realized he was just trying to help. But it wasn’t a professional protective, it was something deeper, even she could see it. “Yeah, well…” She mutters, waving at the apartment. “Don’t exactly have another place lined up… no one I know can take me in because I didn’t expect to get firebombed at 10 pm.” She remarks.
His jaw flexed, like he was deciding how much to say… then, his mouth opened. “Come with me.”
Or... Lois Lane's apartment gets firebombed, and firefigher Clark Kent offers her his place to stay in... and it goes better than either of them could've wanted.

Lois stares at the screen for a few seconds until the word Seen appears under the picture. She places her phone on the dresser next to the mirror, and waits.
Nothing for a few heartbeats.
Then, she hears the whoosh she’s so used to hearing, the sound of air being pushed aside, and she feels the familiar heat against her back; she lets herself melt into the feeling without even looking up. Strong arms wrap around her and pull her close, one big hand traveling up her chest to gently cup the underside of her right breast as the other spreads wide across her stomach. The scent of him fills her senses, making her feel truly at home. Her gaze flicks up to see him in the red and blue—Superman, in all his glory, all hers.
