"A demon thing?" Rumi whispers. "Probably. Celine always said I had a strong immune system."
Mira makes a face. One that Rumi would've struggled to decipher even if her vision wasn't so blurry.

Summary
Trinity'd figured out the world was easier without friends somewhere around third grade, and she'd never looked back. (What was the use in even trying to make friends if other kids were never going to like you? She's got better uses for that energy.)
So, yeah. Trinity doesn't do friends. It's safer, and smarter, and Trinity's a lot of things, but she's not stupid. (Not anymore.)
