Aegon knew that his mother abhored him. Knew that she had tried to be caring, as much as the spawn of Otto could be. But he made it too difficult. He was a child who wanted the attention of his father and the warmth of his mother and received neither.
Aegon and Alyssa had never exactly seen eye to eye, even if they were more similar than they thought. It was an accident, really, that they stumbled upon each other. But the solace they found in one another could not be broken once it was forged.
