Hallótta Haddock had something of an odd reputation, so to speak. As their Chief’s only child, she is his heir – in theory. Having been born early, sickly and female, there have been whispers of doing away with tradition and passing over the title to her bigger, stronger, very male cousin Snotlout whenever her father passes – despite the boy having both the temperament and brain of a goat. It certainly didn’t help that the years of increasing duty and Hallótta’s less-than-stellar attempts of making herself useful have strained her and her father’s once close relationship.
And if all that wasn’t enough – there was also that dragon problem they couldn’t seem to shake…

There’s the clatter of something in the mouth of the alley and she turns, placing her body between Host Taylor and the enemy. Her hands grow hot, she can feel her processors flaring and the world slows. “Found the cause of the anomaly.” There’s a group of people at the entrance, dark clothes and weapons in hand. Everyone's the hero of their own story, but we're all just extras in everyone else's.
Everyone, except for me.
Memory is such a fickle thing, to be so important. Change it, edit it, rearrange it, and who's to say what's real, at all?
