“Ms. Miorine is a bit of a crybaby. I would catch her shaking next to me at night. At first, I thought she was cold, so I would try to put a blanket around her, but… I guess I’m just not really aware of things. Sometimes, when she hugs me a bit too tightly, I know she does it to hide her tears in my neck. But I want her to know that with me, she doesn't have to cry. That she doesn't need to anymore.”
The five times Miorine does her best not to cry, and the one time Suletta tells her it’s okay to.

Miorine said yes every time she asked, but she wanted to know if Suletta had a reason for it.
"I think I just want to see you in the place that I love, with the people I love. So that when I think of them, I’ll think of you too. Or—Or when I talk about them, you’ll know what I mean,” She giggled a little at herself. “I’m sorry, I don’t know if that makes sense.”

The girl apprehensively turned towards the princess, her features still as delicate as the first time she laid eyes on them. The girl shook her head weakly, and before Kanade could even open her mouth to say another word, she spun herself around on the heel of her boot and bolted the other way.
Kanade’s heart sank at the implied admission of guilt. She was trying to kill her.

Suletta dreams of home. Not Mercury or the room she shared with her mom or even her bunk bed in Earth House. The greens here are vibrant, well-fed and deeply loved. The vines grow and grow, and she watches yellow flowers bloom then bear fruit, the tomatoes ripe and big enough to fit in the palm of her hands. The greenhouse is far away from everything she’s ever known. It’s quiet here, and peaceful. She thinks she could stay here forever.
