So he thinks he has gotten used to the perpetual state of disarray his mind insists in keeping, but when Nico DiAngelo shadow travels into his bedroom in the dead of the night, life held by a string, he is unpleasantly surprised to know he was wrong.

Nico had never thought himself important, but sometimes he does things he can't find an explanation to. He always folds the corner of the page 48 in every book, he always washes the collars of his t-shirts more insistently even if nothing is there, he found himself even running his fingers over the two freckles on the side of his neck absent-mindedly, like mourning the loss of something that made those things habits. But what? What made that a habit? He wasn't sure, but he had a feeling he would never know if he actively searched for the answers.

Leo knew the fear of abandonment didn’t let him breathe properly.
It was like there was this thing buried in his chest instead of a heart, a never-ending hole he could never seem to fill. Laughs, jokes, parties, alcohol– nothing could satisfy his crave. He spent his days like an errant soul in search of something that wasn't his anymore, singing a song of lamentation only he could hear.
So when he came face to face with Aphrodite, it was the only reasonable thing to ask:
Was Leo truly unloveable?

“Simon?” Grace tries out the name, the syllables rolling of his tongue. To his surprise, Simon looks up. He looks scared and confused, regardless of how harsh his bark may come off or unnatural his eyes are. Grace longs to help him.
“Can you c’mere, please? So I can show you proof I’m not lying to you?” Grace asks with a new wave of patience. Simon looks away and doesn’t move, choosing to glare at the wall.
“I don’t bite,” Grace reassures.
“What if I do?” Simon warns, tone too soft to be threatening.
Grace sits down with a grunt, crisscrossed on the floor from where he stood with the laptop settled on his lap.
“Then that’s a risk I’ll just have to take.”
