“A steak?”
“What’s so wrong with a steak?” Frank said. “It was a perfectly fine meal.”
“Everyone’s had a steak,” Pierce said.
“Steak’s so pedestrian,” BJ added.
“Really? Mine takes the train.”
Or: the boys talk food while they're stranded.

"Let’s run away, then,” he says, motioning for her to sit against the shed. He doesn’t want to wake Klinger. “Or you become a general, and I’ll stay at home.”
“That’s ridiculous,” Margaret says through tears. He offers her his shirtsleeve as a handkerchief and she smiles blearily, placing her hand atop of his instead. “You’d never have dinner on the table in time.”

My mentor, for sure. He’s so patient, extremely funny, and an excellent doctor. He was out on leave but is coming back this week and I am so excited! I missed him when he was gone.

Girl, are you sure he’s just your mentor ;)
mel_of_mistymountains 2 points · 2 days ago
Well, I think now he might technically be my coworker? He’s repeating a year of residency.
Or, Mel and Frank are both on Reddit.

“I’d like to take your temperature with a thermometer,” you say, finally drawing your hand away. Even though it’s gloved, it feels like it’s glowing with heat.
His eyes crinkle in his very best imitation of a smile. “And I’d like to see this thermometer’s M.D. The war doesn’t stop on account of my fever.” He clicks his tongue, and drops a piece of shrapnel in a basin. “I thought you knew that by now.”

“You don’t understand,” she says, turning the bottle around in her hands. “I lied about – I lied. When I said that I was with Donald in Tokyo six weeks ago, well, I was, I mean we were, but – we weren’t. We haven’t been intimate in three months.”

Or: There's more to Margaret's pregnancy scare than she admits at first. A missing scene for "What's Up, Doc?" written for the MASH fic Olympics. Theme: Secrets.
Note: I used the Hawkeye/Margaret relationship tag because this fic deals with fallout from the events of "Comrades in Arms," but it is above all a Hawkeye & Margaret friendship fic.
