Superman puts a steady hand on her knee. “I care that you exist, Eve.”
Eve hums. It’s sweet, if empty. She’s pretty sure Superman is like, legally required to care that every single person exists. So it doesn’t really count. She doesn’t need to say that, though.

His palm feels so warm, rough and callused against Clark's own, tethering him right here to the planet they're learning more about.
