She's the most passionate person he knows, all acid and spit. Nine stone of piss and vinegar, his mum would've called her. She hurls the meanest insults and then turns right around and fights to bring justice for lost souls that the rest of the world forgot about, because she knows they matter. Sometimes Charles thinks that if he wasn't already dead he'd get burned up just being close to her, with how she's so full of fire.
So then, it makes sense that he can't shake the feeling of wrongness while he looks at her sleeping in that hospital bed.
