Summary
Misty has always had a fondness for dead things. Quiet, docile, malleable — she talks, and they just listen. She’d always get a little excited whenever a patient died, and she was the first to discover them. They were usually quiet around her, so it wasn’t like anything had changed. It makes sense for her to prefer people who would actually be willing to listen to her talk about whatever she wanted while she went about their room, going through their things and stealing their leftover prescription medication before anyone noticed.
That serene, uninterrupted silence. The total absence of cruelty or rejection she normally experiences whenever she dares to put herself out there. It’s rare that people actually see her. She’s used to it by now. The caution, suspicion, and the way people move about her like she’s surrounded by something even more fragile than eggshells.
To her, Natalie was the only person who was both alive and tolerable.

Summary
This one, Helly did remember, because it was the only thing she could relate to. Helly wasn’t going to deny that. They were supposed to be the same person at the end of the day. Except Helly’s outie could touch herself without the eyes of Lumon looming over her. She had that freedom. Helly did not.
She turned her head to the side, whispered into the door hinges, ‘you lucky fucking bitch,’ before opening the zip of her skirt and forcing her hand into her underwear.

Summary
Alicent’s gaze searches her eyes. What are you searching for? Rhaenyra wants to whisper. She’s close enough that only Alicent will hear. She’d get away with it. She does regret her son’s transgressions, but she loves him. She cannot let her cut out his eye. She knows that’s not what Alicent wants. She sees Alicent. Maybe she hasn’t seen her for a while now, but she does now.

Summary
Misty’s voice is steeped in anger when she whispers to her, “You said not to waste it.”
Amongst the pain and the vast emptiness, she feels it in her stomach. Rumbling at the thought of Natalie. The familiar feeling of hunger again. That unmistakable pain. Maybe something else, too.
AU: Natalie doesn't survive the first hunt.

Summary
Keith let out a cry as his back made contact with the cold wall, the breath being taken from his lungs. Pain blossomed in his spine, a warm feeling travelling up his back. He opened his mouth to speak, to ask Matt what the fuck was going on— but Matt beat him to it.
“What the HELL, Keith! What was that?!” Matt had crowded him into a corner now; his eyebrows were furrowed to the point that there were small wrinkles in between them. It wasn’t an expression Keith had ever seen on him before. His lips were curled around his teeth, almost in a snarl.
Keith met his eyes for a second, then two. Then he looked away. His heart was beating hard, thudding in his chest like a rabbit running from being someone's lunch. Matt could probably feel it if he wanted to, even through the protection of his armour. Maybe he wanted to reach into his chest and squeeze, to pull out anything he could from him.
“Uh– what are you talking about?” It tumbled from his lips, clumsy and disjointed. A lie.

Summary
“I wasn’t expecting any guests.” She mutters, taking in the sight of the girl before her, she finds it hard to call her anything but. “You should always expect me.” Helena mutters, snarky as always before inviting herself into Harmony’s space, lightly shoving past her and seating herself on her couch. Kicking off expensive loafers, permeating the space with a sickly sweet perfume that reminds her of a bakery. She’s flouncing around her home in the same business wear she wore just hours ago, a white, silken blouse and a blue pencil skirt that just barely reaches her knees. Her stockings have runs in them, Harmony clicks her tongue when she catches sight of them.

Summary
Everything Shane has ever done has resulted in something else. People would call that karma, or physics, but Shane knows better. There are moments he’s sure he has the ability to control everything with a right or wrong thought. And there are moments of clarity where he knows this isn’t true.

Summary
No, Ilya isn’t a martyr, but he isn’t selfish either.
Tonight he wants to be selfish.
Ilya wants to use Shane. He wants to use his willingness, his body, his everything to make himself feel better.
It’s a truth. Maybe an ugly one, but one that he owes to both himself and to Shane to accept. Tonight will be about him.
And Shane, for his part, is a willing participant in it all.
‘I want to be useful,’ he had said.
