Summary
Unspeakable Hermione Granger takes her work home with her sometimes. The night of Hogwarts’ 10th annual fundraising gala, she’s so close to a breakthrough that she slides her project into her pocket and promises to finish it that night.
Except that night never comes.
Because when Unspeakable Hermione Granger falls between her two best friends, they catch her, but not before the newest version of a time turner shatters and sends them back in history into the middle of a goblin uprising in the bodies of their 17-year old selves.
Thankfully, the first people they run into on the deserted, middle of the night grounds of Hogwarts are a duo of rule breakers as tenacious as they once were. They even have a secret room to hide the trio away in until they can figure out how to get back.
Everything is going all right, until the introduction of one Ominis Gaunt.

Summary
The ability to see was something so many people took for granted, although, Ominis can't blame them. Being able to experience colors and shapes without a wand to help guide you or without someone's pitying voice as they attempt to describe something they know you can never begin to understand, is something most people don't understand, unlike Ominis. He all too frequently hears the sympathetic voices of his peers as they try to inform him of the color of his potion before it boils over, or how beautiful a flower looks, or just how magnificent the world around him is. It truly is a pity.
They very rarely would experience the feeling of helplessness without a wand to help guide you through everyday life. They never have to worry of what danger may befall them if their wand happens to break, or, in this case, if it gets flung across a cave in the middle of the Scottish Highlands while one was exploring with their classmate.
No, they certainly would never need to worry about that, but it appears that today, that is exactly what Ominis needs to worry about.
Or,
When Ominis Gaunt gets sent 100 years into the future by a magical artifact.

The all consuming, aching, bone-deep kind of tired that only ever came with way too much on one's plate. It was slow; agonizingly slow—his lungs strained as he breathed, and every time it became more difficult, like he was right back under that building, struggling to hold up hundreds of tons of concrete and rubble, unable to stop because if he stopped—that was it. No do-overs for Peter Parker. There would be—nothing.Percy Jackson was done. So, so incredibly over literally everything in the universe. He wanted to lay down and just—stop. Have the world slow down, and—for once in his goddamn life, rest peacefully.
Neither of them get what they want, of course.
