The rain caused an annoying drip down the side of her face, and no matter how many times she wiped it away it always came back. Over and over and over again, it was frustrating. She couldn’t feel the way the rain burned the scrapes on her knees, just that drip passing by the outside corner of her right eye. It just wouldn’t stop."

So today was always gonna suck, even before the addition of a missing baby at Hep-C Central. Lucy’s ready for today to suck.

But the voice had stopped being encouraging, like even Ravi had given up on her survival. By now she even hoped to die, the dehydration getting to her like it hadn’t before. Maybe DT would really just leave her to die of starvation or dehydration, abandoning his earlier plan.
