The thought cut off as a particularly vicious spasm seized her lower back. Chrissy's fingers tightened on the edge of the bench, knuckles going bloodless. She kept her breathing shallow, afraid to draw in too much air, afraid the expansion of her ribcage would pull at something that couldn't take any more pulling. Sweat had broken out along her hairline despite the cold, and she could feel it cooling on her skin, making her shiver, which made everything worse.
When it finally released its grip, she was left gasping tiny sips of air, her free hand pressed flat against the bench beside her thigh like she needed to anchor herself to something solid.
God, I can't do this.

Chrissy injured her back during cheerleading practice. Good thing her girlfriend Robin can pick her up and help out.
