The Underground: a network of vigilantes supported and directed by the Hero Commission to assist in maintaining the structure of Hero Society through any means necessary.
Izuku descended into the Underground after the War, a quirkless medic with no future. Presented with a deal of a lifetime. He entered the doors of Illusion and into the laps of Heroes spilling all their secrets and wants. Strings of Hero Society plucked by the Commission while Izuku and his crew deal with criminals in forgotten areas of the city. Whatever missions the Commission throws at them just a bonus.
There are whispers of a new threat growing in the city and, to make matters worse, Izuku finds himself with the eyes of the Number One hero on him. A slippery slope into something Izuku can't escape.
If there’s anything Izuku has learned as a vigilante and spy, it’s that everything is not what it seems.

Jayce could only stare.
His breath sawed in and out of his lungs, his muscles still trembling from the fight he hadn’t won. His heart pounded, sending raw exhaustion through every inch of his body, but he couldn’t tear his gaze away.
Because Viktor wasn’t even breathing.
He should have been panting, shaking with adrenaline. He should have looked rattled, something, anything, but he didn’t. Instead, he exhaled through his nose and turned to Jayce with a slow tilt of his head.
Golden eyes gleamed in the dark.
Jayce shuddered. Not from fear. Not exactly.In the ruins of a world overrun by the dead, Jayce survives alone, haunted by those he’s lost. Six months after his group’s collapse, he’s resigned himself to the isolation that keeps him alive, until he meets Viktor, a man who shouldn’t be capable of speech, thought, or humanity. Torn between fear and longing, Jayce struggles to trust the strange man who offers him companionship in a world where every connection is a risk.

How generous was she? Please, as if some little spy didn’t dart out of that ballroom as soon as Jayce was finished dancing to tell Viktor all about the money.
Jayce grabbed Viktor's thigh and bullied himself into the vee of Viktor’s legs. Just as quickly, Viktor had a hand in his hair, jerking his neck back, his lips pursed into a pissy line. Jayce felt collared, there was no escape, and he was outrageously hard in his slacks.
“You did tell me to flirt with her,” Jayce croaked. “We needed this deal for the exports.”
Viktor knotted his fingers, and Jayce moaned, he couldn’t help it.
“I did tell you. You performed admirably, and now I am rewarding you,” Viktor purred. “You have five minutes. Make me come.”
(Or Viktor, a mob boss, and Jayce, his husband, traumatize a poor bathroom attendant.)

Summary
Jayce blames everything – the unhelpful interest, the obsessive observation, the scribbling in his notebook; the memorizing and cataloguing and compartmentalizing – on Viktor being… Viktor. An enigma. A game of chess against someone so much smarter. A whole universe of unknown stars hidden behind an accented voice, eccentricities and unexplained habits. Because that’s what Viktor is, in the end – silently challenging and unperceived and an unresolved force of nature. As a scientist, Jayce cannot sit by and let a seemingly unsolvable conundrum with countless unknown variables be.
