Summary
Estinien has a healthy relationship with work: he goes in, he does what is expected of him, he helps others who are in need of it, and he goes home — even if that happens to be well into the evening. Though his sense of purpose may have waned, it affords him the freedom that he's sought since his youth, and he's learned to take all of the ridiculous ups and downs that come with corporate life in stride.
No reason to fix what isn't broken, is there?

Summary
Aymeric has struggled to find his place in life. It certainly wasn't staying with his noble family and being married off for a political alliance. But the military wasn't quite right either, even when he thrived both in combat and strategy. He did, however, meet a dear friend in his time at the barracks.
A dear friend he had to leave behind when he decided to instead pursue a life of piety.
Now settled into his assignment with a nomadic caravan, Aymeric decides to write a letter to Estinien, hoping to reconnect with the one person that ever made him feel like an individual rather than a pawn in someone else's game.

Summary
Aymeric de Borel, a priest of the Halonic Orthodox Church serving the faithful in the Brume, falls victim to a most unfortunate circumstance: attacked and tainted by some nightkin, cursed to crave blood and fear daylight.
He flees the densely populated Holy See for a small village on the fringes called Ferndale, hoping to take refuge among strangers and sate his voidsent tastes on wild game rather than innocent victims. And while the villagers take to him quickly, charmed by their new resident priest and his velvety voice, there is one man who is not so quickly won over...
A lone woodsman who sees Monsignor Aymeric for what he is: unnatural, otherworldly, a threat.
