The hard stale platform I call a bed still feels like it always has: cold and unforgiving. I wonder what it actually looks like. I can visualize it, feel all the small crooks and valleys in the hard wooden form, and the formation of splinters that attack me. It's all there. But I can never see it. Never see which color the wood has. Never see how the patterns and valleys really look like. I can only imagine it.
