He found it almost amusing, the thought that two decades ago he would have deeply hated being in this situation. How much had changed, Shen Qingqiu mused while turning a page, barely paying attention to the content of the book, and how much hadn’t.
He still despised most people. Humans were horrible, wretched beings, and men were the worst of their lot. He didn’t think anything would ever change his mind on this, no matter how long he lived, even if he ended up ascending to Heaven. He was the prime example of this; a greedy, selfish, tainted creature that was masquerading as a cultivator. Just because some people proved themselves to be above the rest didn’t mean much for humanity. He would always expect people he met to have ulterior motives, to be ready to betray him at the first occasion, to be willing to let him rot in a hellish mansion while they were working on bettering themselves as an untouchable cultivator.
And yet, here he was.

“Peak Lord of Qing Jing, Shen Qingqiu.” He finally said. Then, seeing Cheong Myeong’s confused face, he added. “Cang Qiong.”
“Ah!” That rang a bell. “The twelve peaks sect? Yeah, I heard of that one.”
Shen Qingqiu looked at him like at a particularly interesting specimen. “It’s relieving to know there are some distant corners of this country where my reputation has yet to be tarnished,” he muttered under his breath. “Very well. Take me to that doctor friend of yours. But if you’re trying to exploit me-”
“Your teeth, my dick, I remember, don’t worry,” Cheong Myeong waved him off, then turned around. “Follow me! I wasn’t paying attention when walking so we might get lost, but I’m sure we’ll get there eventually!”

When Shen Qingqiu’s thin eyebrows begin to furrow with displeasure, he suppresses a sigh and does what is probably a horribly unattractive shuffle until the furrow evens out, and he’s left sitting at more of an angle with the other man, his knee almost brushing Shen Qingqiu’s expensive-looking robes.
Somehow, Shang Qinghua has found himself in a—situation-ship? friend-ship? some other -ship word he isn't aware of? with the Scum Villain of all people.
