Summary
Jabber was just here to let loose after a day’s work, not do overtime for the Raiders by picking fights with Cleaners at bars outside office hours. At least not deadly ones… if he plays his cards right.
“What’s yer problem, shithead?” Zanka’s voice came out tired and slurred. Clearly the drinks had gotten to him. Jabber wonders what Zanka’s face looks like now. Zanka isn’t even looking at him, face burrowed into the crook of his elbow, hair fanning out messily around him.
A mischievous thought pops into Jabber’s head— what would happen if he pushed Zanka’s buttons now?
or;
Jabber tries to rile up a drunk Zanka. -

Summary
“Wade.” Logan cuts in. A pause. “You know you don’t have to pretend to be happy, or even okay all the time, right? But there’s a lot of— better ways you can deal with your feelings than that.”
Deadpool’s previous anger rears its head again.
“Big talk coming from someone who drinks to cope with the guilt of mass murder.”
That was a low blow, and he knows it.
Wade almost immediately wants to suck the words back into his mouth. He’d known Logan was trying his best to quit, and Logan meant well and that he was guilty for killling, trying to talk calmly to him about his feelings, so what on earth possessed him to say that?
“Look, Logan, I—“
“So that’s what you really think of me. A mass murderer.” Logan comments flatly, chuckling darkly, footsteps retreating down the hallway.

Summary
Wade wrinkles his face at his own thoughts but then as the ADHD riddled creature he is, latches onto another thought and asks: “How do you know all this anyway?”
Logan sits back, crosses his arms and looks up at the ceiling. Wade thinks he isn’t actually seeing the ceiling at all and for a second, there is a small twinge in his chest of regret for having plucked Logan out of his Universe, as shitty as it was.
“We were friends, I suppose,” Logan says after a while and every single thought in Wade's brain leaks right out of his ears because what now?.

“Can dogs smell heartbreak?” Wade asks him one night, holding Dogpool in his lap, looking curiously down at her.
Probably, Logan wants to answer. Because I can.

Summary
Wade could help him. He probably would, if Logan asked. He swallows and it clicks loudly in his throat, Wade’s scent still clogged in his nose, so pleasant that he can barely think of anything else.
“I’m going through heat,” he mutters gruffly, resisting the urge to rut down onto the mattress.
To Wade’s credit he only blinks at the revelation, his mouth opening for just a few moments before closing again.
“Does this make me a furry?”
(Or, Logan gets his first heat in a long time. Wade, of course, helps him through it.)

Summary
Wolfwood looks different. Different than even the hundreds of ghosts—threads of shimmering grey shot through his temples and fine lines splintered out around his eyes like someone dragged a feather through damp clay. Like he’s aged almost decade in the year since he—
“Died,” Vash rasps. “You died.”
Wolfwood’s eyebrows shoot up in an expression that Vash has remembered so many times that his own faulty memory rewrote over the real thing.
“This isn’t—how?” he asks, voice warping around the cold static clogging his mouth.
“You ever hear of Jesus Christ?” Wolfwood grins, and it’s exactly the same. Like no time has passed. Like he’s so proud of his stupid joke. Like Vash didn’t lay his still-warm corpse in the ground and bury him on the other side of that building.
Like the inexorable inspiral of a binary star, Vash is drawn back to the orphanage in December and the unexpectedly empty grave of his dearest friend.
Or, Vash and Wolfwood and all their tomorrows.
