Summary
And Aemond is smart. He truly is, and this isn't even a brag —his mother likes to remind him that modesty and discipline pave a better way for his ambitions—, so he knows what's to be done here. He shouldn't engage, and that's a first. He came to the clearing with the sole purpose of being left alone with his book; with no drunk Aegon pestering the service and no father figure —and isn’t that a joke— to tell him what to do. And most importantly, he didn’t come here to listen to this senseless talk coming from the mouth of a little, strong pup.
But he feels this pull when it comes to Lucerys, as if he were a puppet and his nephew had his strings wrapped around his small fingers.
