Edward said instead, taking to action now; cleaning up his desk, setting to the side the papers that had been claimed by the ink spill, freeing the spot that was stained in the wood, trying to set the papers that had not yet been claimed by black spots. He sighed, wondering how he'd get the spot out of the table. And he would need to get it out, since even if he did cover it effectively, he'd still know it was there.
"Yes, I did." Arthur straightened his waistcoat next to him as Edward cleaned up his desk. "I'm pursuing a lifestyle change."

Oscar had never really put all that much thought into his status as a beta.
As a beta, his secondary sex didn't put anywhere near as much of an effect on his every day life in the way that being an alpha or omega would. He didn't experience heats or ruts, and well… his ability to scent was baseline. His own scent was mild and even, much less prone to souring. In turn, he wasn't as affected by the scents of others either. It meant he had a pretty easy time on the track, all things considered.
